Growing up in a beach house along Myrtle Coves, Giotto spent most of his childhood by the seaside. Being the sporty, competitive jock, the young man grew up playing various beach sports, from beach volleyball to beach wrestling.

His earth power manifested very early. It started when he was five years old. He was able to shift mounts of sand into the house. His parents were shocked at their son’s gift and explained to him the potential impact of his powers and that he should only use them responsibly. That time, the innocent kid smiled his biggest grin and said he wanted to protect his parents with his powers.

Being a typical jock and eager for action, he joined the Myrtle Lifeguards to protect the beach and make rescues and quickly became well-known as the Earth-shifting Lifeguard. During this, the young hunk patrolled the beach frequently, most often shirtless, displaying his well-defined, god-like physique, drawing the lustful eyes of many beach-goers. Naturally, Giotto vainly enjoyed the attention he got.

One of the simple pleasures of his job was the daily sight of toned hunks strutting their stuff on the beach. But, while beautiful girls flocked, flirted, and attempted to lay with him, he gentlemanly turned them down, making them flutter with lust. His eyes were only set on men, but he refused to accept his sexuality. So as he gazed upon the hot muscular bodies on the beach daily, the virgin young man pondered by his lifeguard chair if this job was even healthy for his mental health. 

Out of the blue, the lifeguard radio announced that the Cindra Alliance was recruiting new heroes. “Maybe I should do a try-out for that. Might be worth the change of scene.” thought Giotto as he continued his lookout.
