Abilities (Level)
Storybook Mimicry (A)
With a book in hand, Fables can mimic the powers and traits of storybook characters, drawing the power from the character into the world outside from the books for a period of time.
The more widely known a book character and the more affinity he has with them, the more power Fables can draw from the character and the longer the effects last.
Fable can interact with the storybook characters when he is drawing powers from them.
Equipment:
- A portable set of hand-picked storybooks for missions
Weaknesses
Runes from Physical Books
- As a Runic Mage, Fables requires runic scriptures to pull characters’ abilities and traits into the world. To do so, he needs specific books as part of his runic magic.
As a countermeasure, he carries a compact set of storybooks with him, maximizing his options with short stories containing prominent characters.
Mental and Physical Limitations
- Taking on a character put Fables at risk of personality spill-over or even total loss of self if the book character is too powerful for him to control.

Appearance
Caleb Hatt is a handsome young man with scarlet-red wavey hair and deep brown eyes. A sprinkle of freckles across his cheeks and a neatly trimmed shave gave him his boyish charms.
Despite being an avid reader, he maintains his well-toned body through regular gym sessions with his superhero buddies. Tall, fit, and highly intelligent, it was without saying that the young hero had many suitors.
As Fable, his costume consists of a brown and black super-suit under a sleeveless jacket. The symbol “F” was sewn on the left breast of his jacket, signifying the hero’s name. Like one of his favorite storybook characters, Fable wears a yellow scarf. The hero also carries a set of books around in a small pouch by his waist.
Personality
Fable is a wise and sincere man, occasionally giving off a sense of nervousness. The hero always stood firmly on his integrity and was never satisfied until he had done what he knew to be right.
He tends to approach life with deep thoughtfulness and wild imagination. But even so, he clearly understands his values and is always focused on what truly matters. Even though his beliefs seemed contradictory, his approach gave Fable a firmly rooted identity yet gifted him the freedom to explore the impossible.
Among his peers, his commitment to making the world a better place is second to none. Fable had always cared about the youths, believing they were the key to making the world better. Using the power of stories, he wants to spread compassion, love, and unwavering morals to the younglings of the next generation.
That said, Fable constantly guides everyone he interacts with, inspiring them with his countless tales.
Origins
Since he was a child, Caleb Hatt always had a storybook in his hands. Nothing interests the young mage from Hague Domain more than to dive into the fantasy world of stories to take on each character’s persona, embark on their adventures and learn the morals behind each tale. Born into an important and successful family of runic mages, Caleb lived happily and safely in his blissful home, indulging in books like no tomorrow.
When he was about 18 years old, a new adventure presented itself. A long-time family friend, Aaron DeLuca, invited him on a trip to Earth-1204. The powerful Avian sorcerer shared many secrets and unknowns of the human world with Caleb. With promises of new stories that he could enjoy, Caleb embarked on the trip without another thought.
On his trip, Caleb saw the darker side of many things. Humans were selfish and arrogant. Corruptions abounded. The domain he lived in was much more morally advanced that Earth-1204. This world was flawed.
Instead of returning to his home, Caleb took it upon himself to stay. An intrinsic need compelled him to make the Earth-1204 a better place; he decided to work with Aaron in an earthling organization called Kant Alliance.
In his time, Caleb made many new friends. On Earth-1204, there were many new stories that Caleb had never read. His magic allowed him to befriend the countless storybook characters, revealing a whole new world to Caleb. A world where human values and morals existed. A forgotten world that teaches today’s youth how to be good people.
With his wisdom, talents, and newfound friends, nothing could stop him from finding a way to fix the world. Telling the stories of the world, his goal was to help each child grow up to be a morally upright person. There was more to enjoy in this world for the budding youths.
But only time will tell what will happen as the next chapter unfolds.
