Instincture is able to selectively absorb the properties of the materials he is in contact with into his slime body. The effects are temporary.

Appearance

James is a tall, muscular man. He has short dark hair and sports a well-trimmed 5 o’clock shadow with a goatee. While working for Luxtor, he is dressed in a white lab coat and rimmed glasses.

In his villain form (human), Instincture appears bare-chested with a torso harness that lights up in green. For his lower half, he wears a black-green speedo. The harness acts as a battery to keep him powered almost indefinitely in his slime form. When he transformed into his slime form, he is shapeless and usually colorless. Due to his power source, his fluid body glows a neon-green

Personality

James is a quiet and shy man. When working with Luxtor, he was a loyal follower and will do all his boss’s bidding. His personality changed when he lose his boss and grew spiteful of the heroes.

With his slime powers, he started to become more arrogant and believes that he is invincible. He began to show more ambition than when he was a lackey and now started to challenge the heroes he always hated.

Origins

James started off as the head scientist for Luxtor to study the anatomy of superheroes. Being a brilliant scientist, he continuously proves to Luxtor that he is capable to find key information about the heroes, such as uncovering their power sources and weaknesses and developing countermeasures for the heroes.

Romantically, James has always lusted for Luxtor, but he was afraid to confess to him due to his shyness.

When the Supes continue to disrupt Luxtor’s evil plans and eventually send the corporate billionaire to Anarchy Prison for a lifetime sentence, James was in a rage. The hatred in him grew immensely. True Blue was the one responsible, and he is not about to let that hero get away with locking up his lover forever.
