Abilities (Level)
The Rat Belt (Z)
- Caelus wears the Rat Artifact, a leather belt with a bronze rat-shaped buckle that binds his soul to his body. Grants true immortality: ageless, disease-proof, reconstitution from any injury, including decapitation or dismemberment (reforms over time). Without the belt, centuries catch up instantly.
Regalian Combat Mastery (A)
- Centuries of continuous combat experience. Knows every fighting style that ever existed, many that are forgotten. Can kill any being, including “immortal” ones, with knowledge of their specific vulnerabilities.
Memory of Ages (A)
- Perfect recall of his entire existence, including suppressed Regalian techniques. Also contains the complete known history of the Lacuna War.
Weaknesses
The Belt Dependency
- Without the Rat Belt, he ages to dust in seconds. There are specific conditions for removing the Rat Belt.
Psychological Immortality
- Cannot die, but can suffer. Has experienced every form of torture over centuries. Pain no longer frightens him, but guilt and loneliness are constant.
Executioner‘s Ghost
- The memory of Executioner haunts him. Cannot form lasting bonds with modern humans—too brief, too fragile. His only true equal was the man he killed.

Appearance
Caelus appears as a man in his prime. Broad, powerful, the build of a warrior-knight from an age when physical labor was life and death. His face is striking rather than handsome. Strong bones, weathered skin that never ages further, eyes that have seen civilizations rise and fall. His hair is long, warrior’s length, bound in a braid threaded with silver.
His body carries the map of his immortality. Scars that never fully fade, layered over each other like geological strata. Burns, blade-cuts, claw-marks, strange wounds from forgotten beasts. His pectorals are heavy, dusted with silver-gold hair, nipples dark and permanently hardened from centuries of sensation. His stomach is not defined but powerful.
The Rat Belt is always present, beneath armor, beneath formal wear, beneath everything. He cannot remove it. He has tried.
His armor is white-gold plate fused partially with his body. A Regalian technique makes it weightless to him, immovable to others. Without it, he wears simple white robes, the belt barely concealed, his body still impressive beneath the fabric.
Personality
Caelus operates with the deceptive calm of someone who has witnessed every possible human behavior over millennia. He is unnervingly patient. No situation surprises him, no outrage penetrates his calmness.
He has perfected the role of “father to heroes”, offering guidance, protection, and encouragement—but performs it with deliberate artifice. He cares genuinely for the modern generation yet maintains deliberate emotional walls. Attachment means loss, and he has lost everyone who ever mattered.
Caelus lives simultaneously in the present and the past. Conversations trigger memory floods. Hearing a phrase may cause a thousand-yard stare as he recalls identical conversations from previous centuries.
He forgives slowly (never, in one case) and forgets nothing.
Origins
Caelus was born in the Regalian capital three thousand years ago, when the world was young, and the Virtues still walked among their chosen people. He was bred for service to the Throne for his physical perfection, tactical genius, and absolute loyalty.
He rose to become the King’s White Knight, personal guard and royal executioner of last resort. He served alongside the Executioner. They were bond-partners, lovers in the Regalian way, completing each other’s souls.
When the Executioner exposed the King’s attempt to murder the Creator, Caelus had a choice.
Join his lover in treason, or remain loyal to duty.
He chose duty. He struck the blow that killed the Executioner. He watched his lover drink the reincarnation elixir. He has been waiting ever since.
