Found as a young orphan at a mountain temple in the Pacific Water Continent, Andrew stood out from the other orphans with his foreign looks and strange silver skin. Growing up was difficult as the other kids often ostracized the young boy. But with his naturally optimistic attitude and somewhat ignorance of others’ perception of him, Andrew gradually gained the trust of his fellow orphans.

A loving and caring individual, Andrew made sure that the young children were taken care of and protected against anyone who might threaten them. Seeing his friends leaving one after another to their foster families left Andrew feeling lonely, but he continued to wear a smile to keep the orphanage spirits up.

One day, Andrew and one of his orphans ran errands at the town’s market. There, his friend chanced upon a mysterious oriental box left just on the side of the road. The orphans decided to bring the box back to the temple.

When night fell, Andrew heard a rustling sound along the tiled rooftops. Curious, he left his shared bedroom and visited the main hall, only to find several of the monks lying on the ground. Their limbs and heads were dismembered. Filled with shock and worry, he rushed to the orphan’s rooms. A group of masked strangers dressed in black and armed with deadly weapons surrounded his friends.

Panicking, Andrew took a step back and stumbled. It was that mysterious box that they picked up early that morning. But this time, it was glowing as though calling out to him. Within it, he found a pair of magic oriental gauntlets that gave him incredible strength to fend off the enemies.

But to his despair, his friends had been massacred along with all other monks in the temple. Alone, the traumatized orphan felt a sense of defeat. He was not able to protect the people he loved.

With a heavy heart, he left the temple in Pacific Water Continent and wandered into foreign lands beyond the mountain range.
