Vermilion’s origins were a mystery. His earliest memories were with a skulk of vermilion foxes in Wolfsburg Falls. Foxes are solitary, but this was a young fox family with grown male and female foxes and their pups. As a young fox child, he knew that he was an outsider. The red foxes merely saw him as something akin to a spirit and took him in.

For the sake of survival, Arian quickly learned and adapted to the harsh conditions of the forest. Poachers often scoured the woods for foxes. Their beautiful fur fetched a high price in fashion.

One evening, the male fox was wounded when escaping from poachers. Arian could feel its life seeping away. The life essence of his foster “father” was visible while leaving the fox’s body. The curious boy approached it and instinctively took it in, savoring the essence. He felt a strange sense of strength within himself and also gained brief flashes of his parent’s memories – the uncertainty it felt when it took Arian under him, the simple joy and pride it felt when Arian hunted his first rabbit.

Having his first taste of life essence, he was driven by a hunger for more. With his beastly speed, he made quick work of the offending poachers and consumed even more intoxicating essence.

Mortals. They seemed to have fascinating memories. Food. Wealth. Women. Men. Sex. Lust. Sins. He was fascinated by the new experiences he gained through their memories. He will use this to his advantage to survive in the world of humans, draining their mortal essence while charming them with his foxy charisma, deepest desires, and promises of happiness.
